Sahara India Pariwar has been at the forefront in providing
emotional support and financial assistance to the dependents of those who
attained martyrdom. Since 1999, when Sahara adopted 1,006 dependent family
members of 300 families, deep emotional support and financial assistance is
being extended as per the ranks of their deceased.
In addition to providing monthly assistance, help is also
extended for specific activities such as marriages, purchase of academic books
for children who are studying, etc. In addition to financial assistance,
emotional support during times of celebrations and mourning is also extended by
ensuring participation of Sahara workers.
Assistance to the tune of Rs. 12.18 lac per month is provided
to the family members of the Kargil Martyrs.
Former Prime Minister of India, Mr. Atal Bihari
Vajpayee expressed his feelings as, “I thank Sahara India Pariwar for
taking up the responsibility of 300 Kargil martyrs' families. I believe more
such institutions and families will come forward to fulfill their duty towards
the nation.''
