Who knew that the tiny footsteps who was born in a small state of bihar on 10th June 1948 would make an trenchant mark in the economic advancement of a developing country like India.After completing his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Technical Institute, Gorakhpur,  the Bengali boy tied the knot with Ms. Swapna in  1974.

The journey of accomplishment began in Gorakhpur with just 2000Rs in his pocket and was aided by 3 workers along with a pair of chair & table. Today an established successfully running company Sahara Group is a serve output  of ‘sweat & toil’ by Mr.Subrata Roy.To keep a billion dollor company running uninterruptedly  wouldn’t be possible without patience, intellectual capacity to manage and sole believe & trust in his breadwinners by Saharasri ji.

A dedicated follower of Indian Guru Babuji , Mr.Roy  believed firmly in the emotional value consider himself as a guardian of the world’s largest family, and embrace the philosophy of “collective materialism”.

He inaugurated into Deposits Par-banking business and thereafter got his wings to fly higher. Now a conglomerate Sahara India Pariwar has touched the fields from aviation to consumer products, real estate, entertainment, finance, hospitality and lot more.

The greatest acknowledgement a company could ever get is being given the honor of Largest Employer after Indian Railways which was awarded to Sahara Group in 2004, by Time Magazine. What add to the glory of Sahara group is the managing skills of their chairman Mr. Roy, who handles the giant work force evenly.

A current recruitment drive with vacancies of 56k+ at senior positions is a proof of their growth along with the country’s development by providing helping hand to thousands of them.

  1. The company has deployed 25 medical health unit vans equipped with doctors, free medicines and basic testing equipment. The company said in a statement it will distribute blankets and 10,000 solar lanterns. It was expected to come from Sahara, as they have been the face of united and patriotic India.
